RADactive I-Load
I-Load is a component expressly designed to manage images within ASP.NET applications.
 Unlike other image manipulation libraries, I-Load uses a sophisticated graphical interface which allows the uploading, resizing, cropping and rotating of photos.
For the programmer, the primary advantages of using I-Load are:
  • The ability to configure constraints such as: image sizing (width-height), file size (bytes), format or aspect ratio of images to upload
  • The ability to configure the component to automatically create one or more customizable thumbnails

For the end user, using I-Load to upload their own images has many advantages.
The component actually allows:
  • Easily guiding the user through the process of upload/resizing-cropping
  • Informing the user of the status of large file uploads by the use of a status bar
  • Cropping, resizing, rotating, horizontal and vertical flipping of a newly uploaded image
  • Modifying, cropping/resizing/rotating/flipping an already uploaded image
Why I-Load?
Why is I-Load such remarkable new software? What makes it different from the conventional ASP.NET procedures?
Remember: ASP.NET itself isn't intended to give you a pre-established way to upload images; rather, it simply provides a generic html file field control to upload a file.
It's then the tedious work of the programmer to write hundreds of lines of code each time to:
  • Handle the uploading of an image, archiving it in a temporary file
  • Follow the necessary file verification (format and size), assuring the characteristics of the image are valid for the web (.jpeg, .gif, or .png)
  • Eventually adapt the image dimensions to your particular needs; i.e. cropping or scaling the image
  • Generate resized images -sometimes many- from the original image to serve various needs (preview, zoom, icons, thumbnails, etc)
  • Archive the file/files for final storage
  • Clean the disk of temporary files no longer needed
But now, thanks to I-Load, this (and much more) is possible with just a few clicks AND without writing even one line of code!
